Chrissy – Practice Manager

Chrissy started her career in the feline veterinary field at another DC area feline-only clinic in 2007 after managing the Tower Records location in Tyson’s Corner for several years. When the Tower chain sadly went out of business she decided to make a huge change and work with the other passion in her life other than music: CATS!

Chrissy’s parents’ jobs in the foreign service took her to Ankara, Turkey as a child (Mexico and Portugal, too!) where she fell in love with and cared for many of the street cats in her neighborhood during those years. She has been hooked on kitties ever since!

Chrissy lives in Arlington and is owned by a big apple-headed Siamese rescue cat named Stanley. She also helps care for her roommate’s Chihuahua mix, Taco. Outside of work, she loves to catch live music as much as she can and tries to stay hip to the latest and greatest in music and pop culture.

Ellen Carozza, LVT – Licensed Veterinary Technician

Ellen graduated from the State University of New York at Delhi with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 1996. She worked as a primate biohazard technician until moving to small animal medicine. Ellen has been a member of the Virginia Association of Licensed Veterinary Technicians since 1999 and is also a member of AAHA, NAVTA. She served as Vice President in the 2002/2003 terms of VALVT. Ellen is also certified as a veterinary dental technician through the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians. Some of Ellen’s many skills include anesthesia, dentistry, surgical nursing, geriatric care, and neonatal kitten care.

She currently resides with her own special needs cat, a tolerant husband, her 9-year-old daughter, Olivia, a few reptiles, and birds. In her spare time, Ellen’s hobbies include cooking and spending time with her family. She is a human hospice volunteer with VITAS and their Pet Therapy Program with her Umbrella Cockatoo friend, Star.

Ellen is also a talented photographer and captures many of the pictures that we use on our website.

She also performs our grooming procedures including Bathes, Brush-outs, Clown Cuts, and Lion Cuts. If you have questions about our grooming services, please call and ask to speak with Ellen. She can be found at the NOVA Cat Clinic Monday through Friday doing what she loves to do, working with cats.

Patrick Vet. Assistant

Patrick came to NOVA Cat Clinic from another veterinary facility in the area and has a little over a year working with animals professionally. He has 3 Jack Russell Terriers, an albino corn snake, more than 30 tarantulas (and counting!) and one purrfectly princess-like miniature feline named Isabel.

Patrick came to the clinic to gain more experience working with cats and to maintain (relatively) stress-free employment while he finishes the last few credits of his BS in Biology from James Madison University.

Outside work, he enjoys relaxing at home, building campfires, live music, contemplating existence, and enjoying tasty red wines with friends. He is currently living in McLean with his two roommates, whom he affectionately calls Mom and Dad.

Lexi Hagerman - LVT

Lexi joined the NOVA Cat Clinic team after receiving her license and degree in Veterinary Technology at NOVA Community College.

Lexi has loved cats her entire life and has recently adopted a kitten from CGMFF. Along with her new kitten, Lexi is a proud dog mom to Luigi, whom she's had for four years.

Lexi's favorite part of the job is patient care and educating clients on their individual cat questions and needs.

When Lexi isn't snuggling cats, you'll find her researching everything there is to know about cat behavior. She also loves long walks on the beach.
